Beer Brewing Shops
When Sam opened Dogfish Head in 1995 it was the smallest commercial
brewery in America, making 10 gallons of beer at a time. Today Dogfish
Head is among the fastest growing breweries in the country. Dogfish Head
has focused on brewing stronger, more exotic beers since the day it
opened with the proud motto "Off-centered ales for off-centered people."
Sam got the brewing bug back in the early 1990's while working at a bar
in NYC that featured microbrewed beer. After a number of home brew
batches, Sam put his English degree to the test while writing the brew
pub business plan.
Dogfish Head has grown into a 110-person company with a
restaurant/brewery/distillery in Rehoboth Beach and a production brewery
in Milton, Delaware, selling beer in 30 states and three countries. Sam
has been named a Game Changer for 2010 by Huffington Post and he
recently authored "Brewing up a Business" and "Extreme Brewing." He's
also co-author of "He Said Beer, She Said Wine" that provides plenty of
brew and food match-ups made possible by the wide variety of beers and
ales that companies like Dogfish Head now offer.
