  Indiana Breweries, a guide to beer in the Hoosier State was released in 2011. His second book, Massachusetts Breweries was released in 2012. He is currently working on his third book: Craft Beer Kitchen - Recipes from and Inspired by America's Breweries, which will be released by Storey Press in 2013. John also contributed a dozen entries to the critically acclaimed Oxford Companion to Beer and was featured in the New York Times 36 Hours: 150 Weekends in the USA and Canada, published by Taschen.John served as a finalist judge for the 2010 and 2011 Samuel Adams Long Shot Competition. He has also judged a number of other beer competitions including the 2011 Copa Cervezas de America, the Pilsner Urquell Master Homebrewer Competition, Hacker-Pschorr Backyard Oktoberfest Contest, and Having visited more than 900 breweries in the United States and across the world, John has been privileged to learn about the brewing process from some of the most dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable people in the business.
